In the afternoon, Bobby came around classes to help sell sunflowers and wristbands for the Highland Hospice. A lady from the Highland Hospice came in to talk to us about the importance of our fundrasing and how Highland Hospice help in our community. We were shocked to find out how much it costs to run the Hospice daily but were so thankful we raised so much money to help.
Lastly, we were happy to perform our last flashmob at home time to parents. We loved our day. Thank you to all the families that helped us be awesome!
Well done to all the Rainbow Fishes that completed posters and letters that were displayed in our school community and sent out into the local area. Good job!!
We had a great first term together getting to know each other and working on our top two events.
The first was Red Nose Day. We made posters to put up around school to promote the sale of Red Noses.
Next we selected some great posters to go around and promote Dance Day. We made up lists and pictures of ideas that children would like to dress up or down with. We made special posters for the sale of sunflowers and wristbands for the Highland Hospice. We enjoy listening to Kerry’s fundrasing efforts and look forward to helping her on her special journey for Strictly Inverness.

Saying thank you is the kindest, easiest and happiest way to show gratitude.
It shows that people matter and are valuable in our everyday life. We love spreading joy around our school community!! Thank you to all the adults (family, friends and peers) that make us better humans.
Who are you grateful for?
Magnificent mental maths – please practise daily with your child for their confidence, memory and number skills to improve!
Mighty Multiplication – the children should be practising their tables at home to help their mental agility.
GoNoodle – Brain breaks are so important to build concentration, co-ordination, fitness, wellbeing and enjoyment.
Great Gymnastics – We worked hard over several weeks to build our skills in gymnastics. We helped and supported each other. We worked hard to build our strength, balance and technique. We shared this with our younger peers too in the last couple of weeks. Some of us found this challenging and others were able to share their achievements with us as they practise gymnastics outside school.
Mindfulness and Massage with Mrs Hendeerson
Funky Phonics – The Rainbow Fishes have done extremely well in our new phonic programme of Wraparound spelling. We will continue to work hard on this throughout the year to continue to make progress.
Golden Time Band!! We loved the entertainment and enjoyment this young people gave us. They advertised their shows, practised their song and performed to many!! Well done everyone!! They continue to bring us fun and shows over the weeks.
Helpful Handwriting Exercises. Handwriting is an important part of our work. It is important to build skills of organisation and presentation. It is important to build strength in our hands, writst and fingers for this to happen. We can do this by doing lots of activities that it is not just practising handwriting.
Clever Kodaly – We are so grateful that we have benefited from our blocks of Kodaly. We have learnt so much from Rosiland and are looking forward to giving her some of our thank you letters on our last week. We have had lots of fun learning all the songs, games and musical skills from each other.
Wonderful Winners – Well done to our Cross Country winners at the McRoberts Cup. All children did a super job!! What a good day!!!!!All other teams did brilliantly too.
Special days, events and awards!!
We had a lovely time watching our older pupils perform with Scottish Opera. We learned lots of new information and had a great time.
“I liked the costumes the most.”
“I liked the singing and everyone working together.”
“The main characters were super and I hope we get to do something like that when we are older.”
“It was good to see the show. Everyone was having a good time and knew what they were doing.”
We had so much fun on our World Book Day. Some highlights were:
- Wearing PJs.
- Sharing our Favourite book.
- Having ERIC time together.
- Our quiz together.
- The different book stations.
- Our Potato Characters
- I loved it all.
We were incredibly pleased with the children and especially their potato characters. We were raving about their efforts so much that the school all took a turn to visit their achievements. We are very grateful for your continuing support.
Last week we had a very successful outing to the MacRobert Cup.
We came back with lots of medals and a trophy and everyone had a good day out.
Many thanks to staff and parent helpers who made this day possible for our pupils.
