Terrific Three Months

August to October – Our First Three Months Together.

We have had a blast!! Check out our learning below.

Our School Promises are SAFE, HAPPY, LEARNING and RESPECTFUL.

Our A team promises are we help, encourage and include.

We did some drama of good and not so good choices.

We are determined to embark on a circle of Learning to grow and develop throughout the year!

Buckets of Encouragement

We hope you liked your first special gift from us. Are we still saying positive words everyday?

We played lots of getting to know you games at the beginning of the year.  Can you spot the similarities and differences in these photos?

At the beginning of the year, we wanted to explore our topic of Growing and Caring.

We are interested to see if we grow bigger after a year?  Let us mark our height now in August and we will look at it again in June.

We continue to play and explore in our classroom in all areas.

Its good to celebrate success.  Here is just a small part of ours so far…

Kodaly

“We are working very hard learning through music and song.”

“We play great games and they are so fun.”

”I like that everybody joins in and gets a turn.”

We are looking forward to more fun sessions together later this year.

Roald Dahl Day

During Roald Dahl day we did rotations to celebrate the authors work.  The children learned

  1. All about newts.
  2. An Author’s use of language and characters.
  3. The importance of being encouraging and positive.

With Miss Penman, we looked at the opposite characters of Miss Honey and Miss Trunchbull.  Then in groups, we worked together to problem solve a list of qualities for our best teacher.  We had to rank ten qualities in order from the best to the last. Lots of great discussion and hard work.

A final list was created:

  1. Responsible.
  2. Kind
  3. Generous.  (The children wanted teachers to spend time with them to help them).
  4. Funny
  5. Creative
  6. Open
  7. Hard Working
  8. Different
  9. Dedicated
  10. Accepting

Shinty

The P3s from the A Team had great fun playing shinty with their classmates.

We can learn more skills and play further games in the future when the Shinty Club starts.

Special Event – A Day of Drumming and Dancing

“I really liked joining in with the drumming.”

“It was fun to get our own drum and join in making music.”

“The performance was good to watch and shows me that I could do that too if I wanted to.”

“We learnt lots of new facts and I liked joining in with clapping, singing and making beats with my body.”

“The dancing made me smile.  It is good for my body and makes my heart beat fast.”

Our BIGGEST success to date is our Number Day where we raised money for Sophia and her new wheelchair.  Nore than SEVEN HUNDRED POUNDS was raised!!!! WOW What an amazing achievement.  I am so incredibly proud of our children.  Please read and return your KAT to school – thank you.
